It is a simple wrapper around the web UI, so nothing too spectacular, but it does the job. YouTube Music Desktop App is an Electron-based application that provides users with an alternative, enabling them to access the service directly from a desktop app. However, YouTube Music is only available as a browser-based service. Given that many people listen to music primarily via YouTube, it is no surprise that Google has taken the initiative and developed a similar service designed only for listening to music and watching music videos.
